Horse Racing continues even throughout the pandemics...

… horse riding, horse breeding, horse racing ...

Did you know that in France horse racing is the biggest entertainment business?
It is true, the highest biddings can be made in a combination of one leader, two or three in a row or a multiple winners in a tobacco shop or directly at most of the  hippodromes.
Due to the danger of contamination the races, whether we are talking of any discipline such as galloping or trotter, flat and jumps horse races, have been stopped in France and all the EU countries, except for Sweden... which has remained a secure platform for the jockeys and their trusted favourites to train, show themselves, race and:  to win .
That was the case for “Grandissimo” - a young stallion (only 2 years old) who is the youngest in the horse stable of HRH Princess Angela von Hochnenzollern
“Grandissimo”  won a first prize in one of the Swedish races, without even getting any injuries!
The princess often pays visits to Normandy and Paris to visit major horse breedings and choosing the horses herself for her stable. Being a regular visitor to the Limousin region (which is a natural biological region with a very little industry, no pollution  and a great healthy living environment) where she normally stays at Montbrun Castle and where its evergreen fields with their many lawns provide  natural training grounds for her newest discovered favourite.
Meanwhile, in England the most visited and famous competitions such as: the Grand National in Cheltenham, the 2020 Guineas, the Dante festival, the Chester May Meeting are cancelled.
It is also worth of mentioning that in Germany the horse races have been stopped as from the beginning of March. The eight-race card was recently destined have been Western Europe’s  first large sporting event for nearly two months taking place in Dortmund, where politicians met in order to overlook the planned restart of horse racing. Nevertheless they believed that it was not yet time for it to happen. The country was hit by a sudden spike of Coronavirus (Covid -19) cases over the last week. “It was a real shame not to be able to restart the races after nearly two month break” proclaimed Michael Vesper, the president of the racing regulator Deutscher Galopp.
“According to the hygiene concept that has been developed, there is no risk of infection from “ghost races” on the extensive racetracks, and which has also been confirmed by local health authorities”,  however it was hoped for that horse racing would be returning without spectators.
Now the big question is will Royal Ascot still go ahead? The Investec Derby Festival?
Ascot - the event where all international challengers from all over the globe are used to come and compete is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, June 16, which is the week after the current government ban is suppose to expire. Those who are involved in racing in any kind of way will be hoping and aspiring that the event will ahead..
What do you anticipate with regard to these fixed major events to come? We will keep on watching, hoping and looking forward for any updates ... do you?
Stay tuned and we will publish here any and all prospects as soon as they become available.
